You feel «something wrong» about your disk space? It seems, there should be more space, but mysteriously it has gone. You see some «seriously-looking» folders made by your system and other programs, taking a huge amount of space but how can you examine all those folders (with gazillions of nested and similar ones) to find out which files can be deleted? You can do it with the small and free program named DiskSweeper!
The logics of the program is crystal clear: you set «where to search» (disks and/or folders) and run the search. DiskSweeper fast checks all files on your disks against patterns for temporary and unnecessary files (a huge number of patterns are embedded into the program, you can also add yours). When you see the list of crap found, you can examine it (and possibly delete files youre not convinced about) and then delete the rest at once. DiskSweeper also has options to skip system and hidden files, so, you can be sure about what you do.
The role of the program can be easily extended. It is ready to search zero-length files, which, while not taking the space on your disk, litter up your folders. By manipulating search patterns, you can easy and quickly perform search-and-delete operations on some custom unnecessary file types you expect to be on your disk (like temporary downloaded video, for example). | | | Learn more about DiskSweeper… |
